Dinesh Sharma Slams AAP & Kejriwal In Public Meetings Ahead Of Delhi Elections

Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma addressed separate public meetings in Trilokpuri and New Ashok Nagar, where he criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leadership, particularly Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Dr. Sharma strongly asserted that the people of Delhi would be freed from the “Aap’da,” referring to the AAP’s rule in the capital.

‘People to Celebrate Holi Twice’, Says Sharma

While speaking at the election meetings, Dr. Sharma declared that this year’s elections would see Delhi residents celebrating “Holi twice.”

He predicted a massive defeat for AAP, asserting that the party, which has led Delhi for the past ten years, would face a crushing loss as large as the majority by which it had won in the past.

“The people of Delhi are going to rid themselves of the party that has made their lives miserable for the last decade,” Dr. Sharma said.

Mocking Kejriwal’s Promises & Political Maneuvers

Dr. Sharma went on to mock Kejriwal’s political image, saying, “The cold is going away, and with it, the cough and the chair of the muffler man will go away.”

He accused Kejriwal of lying to the people of Delhi, mentioning the Delhi CM’s earlier promises of living simply and setting an example with his modest lifestyle, which Sharma claimed turned out to be nothing more than a façade. “They built a Sheesh Mahal for themselves while the people suffered,” he said.

BJP’s Rising Support in Delhi

Dr. Sharma also claimed that there is a growing wave of support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi. He pointed out the fragmentation within the opposition, citing that while Akhilesh Yadav is campaigning for Kejriwal, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called him corrupt. “Kejriwal is now accusing Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case,” Sharma remarked, highlighting the rift within opposition ranks.

He further criticized the current state of Delhi, mentioning the poor condition of roads, the contaminated water supply, and the unfulfilled promises of cleaning the Yamuna. “Even after ten years, Kejriwal continues to make false promises,” he said.

Dr. Sharma challenged Kejriwal, asking whether the Delhi CM could take a dip in the Yamuna with his cabinet, similar to what Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did in the Sangam river, where the water was reportedly clean after BJP’s efforts.

He suggested that Kejriwal’s promises of cleaning the Yamuna had remained unfulfilled and were unlikely to materialize under his leadership.

Dr. Sharma also accused the Delhi government of corruption, specifically pointing to a scam in the construction of schools in the city.

He claimed that Delhi now ranks poorly in terms of education, further criticizing Kejriwal’s administration for focusing more on personal comforts than public welfare. “No stone has been left unturned in ruining Delhi,” he added.

BJP’s Vision for Delhi’s Future

Dr. Sharma emphasized that Delhi needed a BJP government to fully benefit from the initiatives and progress that the central government has been making.

“The time has come for Delhi to experience the advantages of a double-engine government,” he said, suggesting that only the BJP could deliver on the promises made to the people of Delhi.

BJP Leaders Attend Public Meetings

The public meetings also saw the presence of prominent BJP leaders, including former Mayor of East Delhi Shyam Agarwal, Assam Gana Parishad MP and former Union Cabinet Minister Virendra Prasad Vaishya, and several other BJP office-bearers such as Anil Sharma (Mandal President), Rahul Singh (General Secretary), and Sanjeev Singh (Corporation Councilor).
