Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated BJP leaders as the Mahayuti alliance took strong early leads in Maharashtra’s civic polls.
The ruling coalition led in most of the 29 municipal corporations and crossed the halfway mark in the BMC.
Fadnavis personally called the BJP’s Maharashtra unit chief, Ravindra Chavan, and the Mumbai unit chief, Ameet Satam, through video messages. He praised their leadership and organisational efforts.
Congratulating Chavan, the Chief Minister said the party delivered an exceptional performance under his stewardship. He described the results as a decisive mandate and credited teamwork across the state.
Addressing Satam, Fadnavis lauded the Mumbai unit’s campaign and expressed confidence in continued success.
The upbeat exchanges reflected high morale within the party as trends pointed to a decisive advantage for the Mahayuti.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who oversaw the civic poll campaign, also congratulated Fadnavis.
In a post on X, he credited the victory to decisive leadership, development-focused governance, and strong grassroots mobilisation. He said voters endorsed progress, stability, and a vision for a ‘Viksit Maharashtra’.
Bawankule further highlighted infrastructure growth, rising investment inflows, and job creation as key factors behind the BJP’s momentum. He thanked party workers and voters, calling them the backbone of the victory.
Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora took a sharp dig at rival factions. In a social media post, he mocked the failed reunion of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray.
He further said Mumbai voters chose accountability and development over political theatrics. Deora also asserted that the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena emerged as the city’s dominant force.
The BJP held leads across key cities and outpaced the Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar NCP alliance in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
In Thane, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena continued to dominate.
The results also marked a setback for the Thackeray cousins’ attempt to consolidate the Marathi vote. Their alliance failed to sway voters in the BMC.
Overall, early trends suggest that voters rewarded the BJP-led alliance for governance, leadership, and a development-driven narrative.
