According to reports from official organisations cited by news agency PTI, the Yamuna river in Delhi reached a record-breaking 207.55 metres of water on Wednesday, breaking the previous high of 207.49 metres established in 1978.
The Old Railway Bridge’s water level reached 207 metres for the first time since 2013 around 4 am, according to the Central Water Commission’s (CWC) flood-monitoring portal, and it reached 207.25 metres by 8 am.
The Delhi Traffic Police warned commuters to stay off flooded roads and regions on Wednesday. Additionally, the police enforced Section 144 in the city’s flood-prone regions.
