Delhi Fire: Blaze Engulfs Socks Warehouse In Sarai Rohilla, Firefighters Battle For Hours

A major fire broke out at a socks warehouse in the basement of a building near Usha Mata Mandir in Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla area late Friday night, prompting a massive response from the Delhi Fire Services.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control after several hours. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

According to fire department officials, they received information about the incident at around 11:36 PM on Friday from a building in Shahzada Bagh, near Usha Mata Mandir, under the jurisdiction of Keshav Puram.

After receiving multiple emergency calls, authorities rushed fire tenders and emergency response vehicles to the location.

Officials subsequently issued a ‘Make-4’ emergency message at around 12:01 AM on Saturday, mobilising additional firefighting teams.

The expanded operation involved three water tenders, three water bowsers, two breathing fire tenders, one mobile pump and one quick response vehicle.

The fire engulfed a basement socks warehouse in a two-level building spread across 550 square yards.

Firefighters contained the blaze at 04:50 AM on Saturday and continued cooling operations. Authorities have yet to determine the cause.

The incident marked the third major fire reported in Delhi on Friday, adding to a series of fire emergencies in the National Capital ahead of Diwali.

Earlier on Friday, a fire broke out at a building housing Kia and garment showrooms near Saket Metro Station around 03:26 PM, prompting an emergency response.

A massive fire engulfed the four-storey Puri Plaza in Gaffar Market early Friday.

Firefighters deployed around 20-25 fire engines to contain the blaze. No casualties or injuries occurred.
