Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Hands Appointment Letters To 1,368 Newly Recruited Teachers

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta handed over appointment letters to 1,368 newly recruited teachers at a programme held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, reaffirming the Delhi government’s commitment to strengthening education and securing a brighter future for students.

The latest recruitment includes 1,015 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), 236 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) and 117 music teachers.

The appointments will strengthen teaching capacity in Delhi government schools and give students better academic support and guidance.

Addressing the gathering, CM Rekha Gupta said the occasion went beyond distributing appointment letters, as the new teachers would take responsibility for providing quality education to lakhs of children and supporting their families. She said Delhi attracts people from across the country in search of opportunities and emphasised that the government considers every child studying in a Delhi government school a child of the city.

The Chief Minister added that ensuring access to quality education and healthcare, while securing a bright future for every child, remains a key priority of her government.

CM Rekha Gupta said the recruitment drive would help fill vacant positions in government schools and ensure that students receive greater academic support.

The addition of teachers would also create new opportunities for students by improving classroom guidance and access to subject expertise.

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said the appointment of 1,368 teachers would strengthen Delhi’s schools and support thousands of students. He said the government aims to ensure every school has adequate and specialist teachers while providing every child equal access to quality education.

Senior officials from the Directorate of Education and other dignitaries attended the programme.

The recruitment will likely strengthen Delhi’s government school system by addressing staff shortages and improving teaching and learning opportunities for students.
