Delhi Airport Issues Passenger Advisory Ahead Of CJP Protest; Urges Extra Travel Time

Delhi Airport has advised passengers to plan their journeys in advance. It has urged them to allow extra commuting time on Saturday, October 10.

The advisory comes as heightened security and traffic restrictions are expected due to the planned Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in the national capital.

In a passenger advisory shared on social media, the airport urged travellers to and from the facility to account for possible delays and consider alternative transport options, including cabs and city buses.

The advisory follows a traffic alert issued by Delhi Traffic Police. The alert warned that traffic movement could be affected across several parts of the city. The restrictions could begin at 06:00 AM on October 10, depending on the prevailing situation.

The identified stretches include Dhaula Kuan Flyover, Mandi House, Jantar Mantar Road, Connaught Place, Lodhi Road Flyover, Patel Chowk and several junctions around New Delhi and Central Delhi.

Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to allow extra time for their journeys. The advisory applies to those travelling through New Delhi and Central Delhi to the airport, railway stations and inter-state bus terminals.

Residents have, however, been urged to avoid non-essential travel.

The police said traffic restrictions would remain flexible and could be adjusted according to real-time assessments.

Commuters can check alternative routes and live traffic updates through the Delhi Traffic Police website and its social media channels.

For assistance, the traffic helpline numbers are 1095 and 011-25844444.

The airport advisory forms part of wider travel precautions as authorities implement security and traffic measures for the planned protest.

Passengers have been advised to check the latest updates before leaving and allow sufficient time to reach the airport.
