As the results of the Lok Sabha 2024 were announced yesterday, former actress and BJP MP Hema Malini registered her third straight win. Hema contested from the Mathura Parliamentary Constituency of Uttar Pradesh. She secured a comfortable win against her rival, Mukesh Dhangar of Congress.
Bollywood’s ‘dream girl’ is seeking a third consecutive term from Mathura. She registered her first win on the seat in 2014 against RLD leader Jayant Chaudhry.
Her win undoubtedly brought a moment of pride to her fans and family.
Esha Deol took to Instagram to celebrate her mother’s victory. Congratulating mother Hema Malini, Esha wrote ‘Congratulations mamma, Hat trick’ with a heart emoji.
Hema Malini entered politics in 1993. The then-President APJ Abdul Kalam nominated her to the Rajya Sabha in 2003. In 2004, she officially joined BJP.
Talking to the media about her hat trick, Hema said, “I am very happy that I am getting a chance to serve people for the third time, I thank people. I am getting an opportunity to complete all the work that was left incomplete. I also thank the workers of our alliance.
BJP appointed General Secretary to Malini in 2010. In 2011, Malini was reappointed to the Rajya Sabha. Party general secretary HN Ananth Kumar had suggested so.
Mathura voted in the second phase of seven-phase elections on April 26. The Bhartiya Janta Party is seeking a third consecutive term with Narendra Modi as PM.
