Cyclone Arnab struck the Andhra Pradesh coast on October 28, bringing heavy rainfall that caused severe flooding and landslides in southern Odisha.
The disaster damaged homes, roads and paddy fields, while floodwaters washed away roads and bridges, disrupting connectivity and leaving people stranded in Ganjam and Gajapati districts.
Teams from the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), Odisha Fire Services, NDRF and other agencies are carrying out rescue and relief operations to reach stranded residents and provide assistance.
The Centre’s support and ongoing rescue operations will help Odisha tackle Cyclone Arnab’s immediate impact, restore essential connectivity, and accelerate relief and rehabilitation for affected communities.
