The Rouse Avenue Court has acknowledged the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the alleged corruption case linked to Delhi’s liquor policy. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja has issued a production warrant against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and others, directing them to appear via video conferencing on September 11.
The court has also extended Kejriwal’s judicial custody until September 11. Notably, the Supreme Court is set to hear Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest and remand by the CBI on September 5.
During the previous hearing, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, highlighted that Kejriwal had secured interim bail in a related Enforcement Directorate (ED) case. However, the Supreme Court rejected Singhvi’s plea for interim bail on medical grounds.

The CBI had filed a supplementary chargesheet against Kejriwal and five others, including Aam Aadmi Party leader Durgesh Pathak, businessman P. Sharath Chandra Reddy, Vinod Chauhan, Ashish Mathur, and Amit Arora. The court is scheduled to review the CBI’s supplementary chargesheet on August 12.
The case revolves around alleged corruption and money laundering during the implementation of Delhi’s 2021-22 excise policy, which was later scrapped. The ED had already filed its chargesheet in the case.
So far, 18 individuals, including Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, and BRS leader K. Kavita, have been arrested. Sanjay Singh has been granted bail by the Supreme Court. The ED arrested Kejriwal on March 21 after he failed to secure protection from arrest from the Delhi High Court. The CBI arrested him on June 26.
