Court Defers Summons Decision For Lalu Prasad And Tejashwi Yadav In Land-For-Jobs Case

The Rouse Avenue Court has postponed its decision on whether to issue summons to former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and others in Land-for-Jobs Case. The court has rescheduled the hearing for September 13.

During the latest hearing, the lawyer of accused Lallan Chaudhary informed the court that the death certificate for Chaudhary is yet to be issued. However, Chaudhary’s wife’s statement and his medical report were submitted. Earlier, the court had requested a report regarding Lallan Chaudhary’s death.

On August 6, the court reserved its decision on the supplementary charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In this charge sheet, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav have been named as accused.

The ED claims that Lalu Prasad took land in exchange for jobs during his tenure as Railway Minister. The case is being investigated under money laundering charges. The ED’s supplementary charge sheet spans 100 pages and includes 96 supporting documents.

Other accused include Hazari Rai, Dharmendra Kumar, Akhileshwar Singh, and late Lal Babu Rai. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also filed a final charge sheet in the case, accusing 78 individuals, including 38 job candidates and officials. Bhola Yadav, Lalu Prasad’s former secretary, is among the accused, with CBI evidence pointing to his involvement.

Several key figures, including Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav, were previously granted bail in February.
