Congress, today, released it’s manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The highlight of that manifesto includes Rs 25 lakhs health insurance, 27 percent reservation for the OBCs and an IPL cricket team for the state. The manifesto was released by senior Congress leader Kamal Nath at Ravindra Bhavan.

Apart from the Health insurance an accidental insurance cover of Rs 10 lakhs for all has been provisioned. The party’s ‘Vardaan Health Insurance’ scheme’ to include not only all hospitals in the state but will include some hospitals from other states as well.
‘Naari Samman Nidhi’ of Rs 1,500 per month for women, a domestic gas cylinder at Rs 500, free school education from classes 1 to 12 and implementation of the old pension scheme (OPS) have found a place in that manifesto.

Monetory assistance of Rs 1.01 lakh to be provided for the daughter’s wedding. Loans to women entrepreneurs, housing for rural homeless women, and free transportation on metropolitan bus services have been promised in the manifesto. Loans upto Rs 25 lakhs with an interest rate of 3 percent are to be provided to the women for their start-up businesses to commence.
Election to the 230-member state assembly is scheduled on November 17 and counting of votes on December 3.
