Who will rule the state ?
Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) to meet today to finalise candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. The meeting is scheduled to be held at Sonia Gandhi’s residence at 10, Janpath.

Among those who are likely to attend the meeting includes Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, Rahul Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Yesterday, a screening committee meeting was held to decide candidates for the Madhya Pradesh polls.
Congress hopes to wrest the state from BJP with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra and Kamal Nath giving their everything out to woo the voters in the state. However, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also not sitting idle as Prime Minister Narendra Modi , union Home Minister Amit Shah holding their own political rallies.
The saffron outfit has already released two list of it’s candidates. The second list includes heavyweights like Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, and Faggan Singh Kulaste.
The central Indian state has 230 assembly seats and the elections are the virtual semi finals for the crucial 2024 General Elections. The elections are likely to be held by the end of this year with the Election Commission is likely to announce the dates soon.
Apart from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram are also scheduled to go for their Assembly elections.
