Congress Extends Full Support To Armed Forces After ‘Operation Sindoor’ Strikes

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) held an emergency meeting on Wednesday in response to ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s military strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). The party declared full support for the Indian Armed Forces and backed the government’s strong stance against terrorism.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge praised the military’s swift and bold response. “We are proud of our brave soldiers who have taken decisive action under ‘Operation Sindoor’,” he said. “We salute their courage and patriotism.” He made it clear that the party supported all actions aimed at safeguarding India from cross-border terrorism.

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders attended the CWC meeting. In a brief statement after the meeting, Gandhi said, “We had a discussion in the Working Committee meeting. We extend our full support to our armed forces. Best wishes and much love to them.”

The party’s official statement echoed this message, reinforcing its solidarity with the armed forces and the government in their response to terrorism.

Kharge stressed that the Congress Party has always stood with the nation during crises. Referring to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, he said the Congress supported every action taken to combat threats to India’s sovereignty.

He called for unity across political and social lines. “There is a great need for unity at all levels to protect the national integrity of our great nation,” Kharge said. “The Congress stands shoulder to shoulder with our soldiers.”

Congress Reaffirms Stand on Terrorism

The party reiterated its clear position on terrorism originating from Pakistan and PoK. “India’s national policy against all forms of terrorism is unwavering,” said Kharge.

He also remembered the historical sacrifices of Indian soldiers. “Our heroes have always given their lives to protect the country’s unity and integrity,” he said.

The Congress Party, through this meeting, sent a strong message of national solidarity and unconditional support to the forces safeguarding the nation.
