CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Spiritual Legacy And National Unity During Visit To Ghazipur’s Hathiyaram Math

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the historic Hathiyaram Math in Jakhaniya, Ghazipur, on Friday.

During his address, he described it as a privilege to offer prayers to Maa Budhiya Mai, whose temple stands as a sacred site with a 900-year-old legacy of devotion and spiritual energy.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Hathiyaram Peeth has remained a beacon of faith and ascetic tradition in eastern Uttar Pradesh for centuries.

He remarked that Ghazipur’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage symbolises India’s deep-rooted devotion and unity.

Addressing devotees, Yogi Adityanath spoke about India’s unique identity, rooted in spirituality and religious consciousness since ancient times. He said the region has been a hub of spiritual awareness since the Ramayana era, where sages performed penance and worshipped divine energies.

Referring to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the Chief Minister recalled that eight years ago, the idea of building the temple seemed like a distant dream.

“When devotees declared ‘Ram Lalla hum aayenge, mandir wahi banayenge’, some doubted the resolve. But with truth and determination, that dream has now become reality,” he said.

He also mentioned that Ayodhya now has four gates dedicated to the revered Shankaracharyas, and an airport named after Maharishi Valmiki, reflecting India’s reverence for its spiritual roots.

Emphasis on National Unity and Cultural Revival

Highlighting the role of temples and maths in fostering national consciousness, Yogi Adityanath said, “Our religious institutions are not just centres of worship but also of national unity and spiritual energy.”

He urged citizens to rise above caste, creed, language, and regional divisions to strengthen India’s collective identity.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the preservation and revival of temples and pilgrimage sites reflect the country’s moral fabric.

“Those who act for the good of society deserve our support,” he added.

During the ceremony, CM Yogi honoured the families of Param Vir Chakra recipient Shaheed Veer Abdul and Mahavir Chakra awardee Shaheed Ramugrah Pandey. He expressed pride in their sacrifices and called them symbols of India’s courage and unity.

The event was attended by Cabinet Minister Ravindra Jaiswal, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Sangeeta Balwant, and several local representatives and saints. The gathering concluded with thousands of devotees partaking in prasad at the Hathiyaram Math premises.
