A major gathering of faith and devotion took place in Unchahar, Raebareli, on Sunday as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the Shree Shiv Maha Puran Katha. He reached the main stage and listened to the discourse delivered by Katha Vyas Pandit Pradeep Mishra.
Addressing devotees, CM Yogi Adityanath said foreign invaders had attempted for centuries to weaken India’s culture, civilisation and religious centres, but failed to break the country’s enduring faith.
“As long as the nectar-like stream of such sacred stories and satsang continues to flow in society, the sacred flag of Sanatan will never be allowed to bow,” CM Yogi said.
CM Yogi Adityanath commended Cabinet Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Manoj Kumar Pandey, who organised the event.
The Chief Minister praised his commitment and devotion, saying religious gatherings help connect younger generations with their roots, values and Sanatan traditions. His prolonged presence on the stage and warm interaction with Pandey, however, drew attention in political circles.
The event attracted an enormous gathering, with the three-lakh-capacity pandal unable to accommodate all devotees. Many people remained outside while listening to the Katha.
Pandit Pradeep Mishra highlighted the significance of devotion to Lord Shiva, saying it inspires service, faith, restraint and righteousness.
Union Minister BL Verma, Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan, High Court Justices Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra and Padam Narayan Mishra, BJP state vice-president Priyanka Rawat, MLC Umesh Dwivedi, Chief Minister’s Adviser Avnish Awasthi, MLAs Ashok Kumar and Surendra Chaudhary, along with senior officials and other prominent personalities, attended the religious gathering.
