Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin, returning from his overseas tour aimed at drawing investments, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he deemed as adopting the opposition’s stance and targeting the Congress party as if it were in power at the Centre. Stalin, fresh from securing investment commitments worth Rs 3,440 crore during his trip to Spain, highlighted the confidence multinational corporations have in Tamil Nadu and his government.
Expressing optimism about more investors choosing Tamil Nadu, Stalin remarked that further investment drives might be organized after the impending Lok Sabha elections. Responding to Modi’s recent parliamentary address, Stalin quipped that he found it amusing, noting Modi’s consistent portrayal of the BJP as an opposition force and the Congress as the ruling entity.
Regarding Modi’s projection of the NDA securing over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha, Stalin sarcastically remarked that it wouldn’t be surprising if Modi claimed victory in all 543 constituencies. Modi had earlier forecasted the BJP winning 370 seats and the NDA crossing 400 while criticizing the Congress’s declining influence.
Stalin also commented on Tamil actor Vijay’s entry into politics, expressing support for anyone willing to serve the public. Stalin’s return follows his departure to Spain on January 27 to attract investments, culminating in his arrival on Wednesday morning.
