CM Rekha Gupta Highlights Pollution Drop; Vows Cleaner, Safer Delhi

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday cited an improved Air Quality Index (AQI) of 74 to highlight her government’s efforts in reducing Delhi’s pollution. She said this is the first time in a decade the index has reached such a satisfactory level.

Speaking at the inauguration of a Jan Seva Kendra in the Greater Kailash Assembly constituency, CM Gupta reaffirmed her commitment to tackling pollution, cleaning the Yamuna, and eliminating garbage mounds.

The CM said her government intervened in court to delay the ban on end-of-life vehicles until 1 November, following public concerns.

She emphasised the administration’s responsiveness: “Today’s government is genuinely working to reduce Delhi’s pollution, not just making hollow promises.”

Gupta also called the decision to allow 24×7 operation of commercial establishments ‘historic’ and said the licensing process will soon be simplified through a single-window system.

She announced plans to raise the hospital bed-to-patient ratio from 2.7 to 5 beds per 1,000 people.

The government also intends to adopt a PPP model to procure medical equipment and complete 24 partially constructed hospitals left unfinished by the previous government.

Criticising the earlier AAP regime, Gupta said, “MLAs were confined to their homes. BJP legislators are working tirelessly for the public.”

Later, on platform X, she said the newly launched Jan Seva Kendra would act as a one-stop solution for citizens’ problems and scheme-related queries, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of service and good governance.

She concluded by stating the BJP’s double-engine government remains focused on delivering development and rights to the last person in line, efficiently and on time.
