CM Mohan Yadav Meets PM Narendra Modi To Discuss Madhya Pradesh Development Agenda

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the state’s development priorities and governance progress. The meeting marked Yadav’s first official interaction with the Prime Minister in 2026.

During the discussion, both leaders reviewed key welfare initiatives, infrastructure expansion, and economic growth strategies in the central Indian state.

Yadav later shared photographs of the meeting on his official X handle and said he briefed the Prime Minister on the achievements of the state government over the past two years.

The Chief Minister informed Prime Minister Modi that Madhya Pradesh has achieved its goal of becoming a Naxal-free state. He also outlined the government’s performance, upcoming policy roadmap, and the action plan for ‘Kisan Kalyan Varsh – 2026’, aimed at strengthening farmer welfare.

Yadav highlighted major investment milestones during the meeting. He told the Prime Minister that investment proposals exceeding Rs 8 lakh crore have emerged through the ‘Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh Growth Conclave’.

He said these commitments will generate large-scale employment across multiple sectors.

The Chief Minister also invited PM Modi to visit Madhya Pradesh. He invited the Prime Minister to lay the foundation stone for NTPC’s expansion project in Narsinghpur.

The project aims to boost power generation capacity and support industrial growth in the region.

Before meeting PM Modi, Yadav met the BJP president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda in New Delhi. He said he received guidance on various development-related issues and organisational matters concerning the state.

The meetings took place amid criticism facing the state government over a water contamination incident in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area.

The diarrhoea outbreak killed at least 15 people, while hospitals continue treating several patients.

Despite the criticism, the Chief Minister used the Delhi meetings to project governance achievements and reinforce the state’s development agenda.
