CM Mohan Yadav Hails Sports Reforms Under PM Modi; Links Fitness To National Growth

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said India has witnessed revolutionary reforms in sports under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a programme at the government-run Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School in Bhopal, CM Yadav said a revolution in the sports system would bolster the ‘Fit India’ campaign, aimed at promoting citizens’ health, which in turn could accelerate national growth.

“Like a sports revolution will make India fit and healthy, the Swadeshi movement will bring economic growth. All citizens should support PM Modi’s ‘Swadeshi’ campaign,” Yadav said, highlighting the link between fitness, economic prosperity, and GST-led reforms.

Swadeshi Campaign & Economic Reforms

CM Yadav, who has been leading PM Modi’s ‘Swadeshi’ campaign in Madhya Pradesh, emphasised that it would bring economic reforms and prosperity to the country.

The Swadeshi movement, according to Yadav, complements initiatives like GST reforms and the ‘Fit India’ campaign in fostering holistic national development.

During the event, CM Yadav also expressed excitement over India’s thrilling six-wicket win against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

He praised Abhishek Sharma’s performance, drawing parallels between India’s cricketing triumph and historical victories by the Indian Armed Forces.

The match, however, also saw controversy when Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf provoked Indian fans with a viral ‘6-0’ gesture.

On-field tensions escalated after Rauf exchanged heated words with Abhishek Sharma following a boundary from Gill, prompting intervention from umpire Gazi Sohel.

CM Yadav concluded that the convergence of sports excellence, citizen fitness, and economic reforms will propel India’s growth. He encouraged young students to participate actively in sports and support national initiatives aimed at promoting health, prosperity, and self-reliance.
