CM Fadnavis Urges Film Fraternity Not To Panic After Firing Near Rohit Shetty’s Home

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked members of the film fraternity not to panic after the recent firing incident outside Rohit Shetty’s residence. He stressed that the administration is committed to maintaining law and order in Mumbai.

“The person accused in this incident is called Shubham Lonkar, who is working as an operative for the Bishnoi gang. His brother has already been arrested, and Shubham, who is outside the country, will also get arrested soon,” the Chief Minister stated.

Replying to concerns raised by Sachin Ahir in the Legislative Council, Fadnavis stated that necessary security arrangements have been put in place. He added that authorities are actively monitoring the situation.

“He had earlier threatened the Congress MLA and now even the BJP MLA as well. His style of functioning is to call from foreign countries and threaten individuals. We will surely arrest him sometime,” CM Fadnavis pointed out.

The Chief Minister confirmed that Maharashtra has sought custody of Anmol Bishnoi, who is currently held by the National Investigation Agency. He said the state will take over custody once central agency procedures are completed.

Details of the Firing Incident

Officials stated that the firing occurred on the night of February 1 near Shetty Tower, the residence of Rohit Shetty. The shots were directed towards the compound wall of the building.

Authorities reported that five rounds were fired, with one bullet hitting a glass panel. Investigators gathered broken glass pieces and empty cartridges from the scene.

Police have examined CCTV footage and seized crucial evidence, including the weapon used, a vehicle, and mobile phones with SIM cards. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.

A total of 13 individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. Of these, 12 are in judicial custody, while one remains under police custody as per court orders.

Following the incident, police have increased deployment, intensified patrolling, and set up checkpoints in sensitive areas. Preventive measures against habitual offenders have also been strengthened.

Officials stated that continuous monitoring is underway to ensure safety in the city. They added that further action will be taken as the investigation progresses.
