CM Fadnavis Calls Ketan Agarwal Murder A Serious Social Concern

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has described the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal at Pune’s Lohagad Fort as a deeply disturbing incident, saying it highlights the need for society to examine why educated young people are developing a vengeful and distorted mindset.

Speaking to reporters during his visit to Pune on Friday, CM Fadnavis said the case was not only a criminal matter but also a serious social issue. He stressed that society must create a strong support system to prevent such attitudes from developing among young people, adding that the incident had shaken the collective conscience.

During his visit, Ketan Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal, met the Chief Minister at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch.

Ketan Agarwal’s father urged Fadnavis to fast-track the case and ensure the strictest punishment for those found guilty.

Siya Goyal’s advocate, Ashutosh Srivastava, said she had signed the vakalatnama, which he will file in court soon. He added that he had not spoken in detail with her family as they were under immense emotional stress and her father was hospitalised.

Srivastava also said Siya was cooperating with the police during the investigation.

Pune Rural Police are preparing to recreate the crime scene at Lohagad Fort to reconstruct the sequence of events and verify the statements made by the accused.

Investigators will use the exercise to strengthen the ongoing probe into Ketan Agarwal’s death.

Police have alleged that Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, pushed Ketan Agarwal into a ravine at Lohagad Fort, resulting in his death.

The allegations remain subject to judicial scrutiny, and the legal proceedings are continuing.
