CJP Delegation Meets JP Nadda; Submits Three Key Demands

Two representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Monday met Union Minister JP Nadda at his residence and submitted a letter outlining the group’s three key demands.

CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka presented the demands, while Nadda urged the group to end its sit-in protest and help restore normalcy in the high-security area near the Parliament complex.

The CJP demanded the release of Sonam Wangchuk without restrictions on his movement, the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Rs 1 crore compensation for the families of all NEET aspirants who died by suicide following the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak.

The meeting marked a significant development after the group’s month-long protest at Jantar Mantar.

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has been supporting the agitation for nearly three weeks.

Following the meeting, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das expressed concern over the police action against protesters at the demonstration site and urged the government to accept the demands, stating that they reflected the aspirations of the country’s youth.

JP Nadda confirmed that the CJP delegation submitted a written petition during the meeting and said the talks were initiated after the group approached the government for discussions.

According to Nadda, discussions had been underway since 11:50 AM, with an initial detailed verbal interaction followed by the submission of the written memorandum at around 4 PM. He described the meeting as cordial and appealed to CJP workers and volunteers to withdraw the protest, saying the government had taken note of their demands.

The CJP launched its protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6, alleging that repeated examination paper leaks and the failure to conduct leak-proof exams had exposed systemic shortcomings.

The group has maintained that no one has taken any meaningful corrective measures to address the issue.
