Chhattisgarh: 7 Naxals Killed In An Encounter In Narayanpur

At least 7 Naxals were killed on Tuesday in an encounter between the security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur.

The District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) collaborated in the ongoing exchange of fire as part of a security effort.

According to ANI, a police officer reported, “An encounter between personnel from the DRG and STF and Naxalites has been ongoing since this morning in Abujhmad of the Narayanpur-Kanker border area.”

“We can confirm that 7 Naxals have been killed and several others have sustained injuries during the ongoing operation with the security forces in Narayanpur district. All security personnel are reported safe,” the officer further stated.

A significant cache of weaponry, ammunition, and explosives, including an AK-47 rifle, was discovered at the scene of the encounter.

3 Naxals Killed In Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

Earlier on 6 April, 3 Naxalites were killed in an ongoing encounter between the security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur.

The bodies of the Naxals and their weapons have been recovered from the spot so far. The weapons included a light machine gun (LMG) and an AK-47.

The anti-Naxal operation in the Karriguta forests of Pujari Kanker on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border is led by Telangana’s Greyhounds. They receive auxiliary support from the Chhattisgarh Police in this operation.

1 Naxalite Killed In Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada

Meanwhile, Earlier on 5 April, a Naxalite was killed in an encounter between security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada.

The encounter took place in a forest under Kirandul police station limits when District Reserve Guard (DRG), Bastar Fighters and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were out on an anti-Naxal operation.

As per reports, “The operation was launched based on inputs about the presence of Maoists. After the exchange of fire ended, the body of a male Naxalite and a weapon were recovered from the spot.”

Chhattisgarh: 13 Naxals Killed In Bijapur

Earlier on 2 April, 13 Naxals were killed in an encounter on Tuesday with the security agencies in Bijapur. The encounter that broke out on Tuesday ended on Wednesday.

As per reports, the toll on the Naxal side could mount further as many more are believed to be injured and are still not accounted for.

A joint team of DRG, CRPF, STF and Cobra jawans were dispatched following information of the presence of Naxals in the area of Bijapur.

Several encounters took place and the bodies were recovered. Weapons were also recovered from the Naxals.
