Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday and discussed several major development projects and issues concerning the state, with a focus on infrastructure, water security and financial support.
In a post following the meeting, Naidu said he discussed the Godavari-Cauvery river interlinking project with PM Modi, describing it as an initiative that could strengthen water security and support the progress of southern states. He sought the Prime Minister’s support for the successful conduct of the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 in Andhra Pradesh.
It was a privilege to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and discuss several important developments and projects in Andhra Pradesh, including the Godavari–Cauvery river interlinking project, which can play an important role in strengthening water security and supporting the progress of the southern States.
I also requested the Prime Minister’s support for the successful conduct of the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 in Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting covered the progress of the Polavaram project, irrigation, agriculture and the state’s economic situation.
Naidu highlighted the proposed river link and said it could improve water availability for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Naidu told PM Modi that Andhra Pradesh had recorded a 53 per cent rainfall deficit due to the impact of El Niño, affecting agriculture and creating drought-related challenges. He outlined steps taken by the state government and sought Central assistance.
The Chief Minister sought support for preparations for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu, along with assistance for the proposed Outer Ring Road around Amaravati, approval for the Visakhapatnam Metro and the proposed Beach Road project.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister briefed PM Modi on the Swarna Andhra–2047 Vision and highlighted initiatives including the Global Horticulture Hub at Madanapalle and the proposed Indian School of Agriculture.
Naidu congratulated PM Modi on completing 25 years in public office and discussed the importance of Centre-State cooperation.
The meeting covered a range of development priorities, with water security, infrastructure and support for upcoming projects forming key areas of discussion between Naidu and PM Modi.
