Chandrababu Naidu Is Expected To Take Oath As The CM Of Andhra Pradesh On June 9

On June 9, N. Chandrababu Naidu, the president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is expected to take the oath of office as the new chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, according to party sources.

With 158 out of 175 Assembly constituencies clearly in the TDP-led alliance’s favor, Naidu is poised to retake control of Andhra Pradesh with a landslide victory.

For the fourth time, the 74-year-old will take the oath of office as chief minister. From 1995 to 2004, he led the united state of Andhra Pradesh as its chief minister.

After the 2014 split, the leader of the TDP also assumed the role of chief minister for the first time in the reconstituted state of Andhra Pradesh.

Five years after his party was humiliatingly defeated by the YSR Congress Party in 2019, Naidu has recovered by capitalizing on the anti-establishment sentiment.

His partnership with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party (JSP) seemed to have changed everything.

TDP holds a commanding lead in 131 segments and has won a sizable majority by itself. As the representative for the Kuppam constituency from 1989, Naidu was leading it personally.

In the Mangalagiri constituency, Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh also had an advantage. In earlier elections, Lokesh had lost to the same segment.
In addition, the Naidu-led party held a lead in 16 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats. With 21 seats, the tripartite alliance had the advantage.

TDP was only able to secure 23 Assembly seats and 3 Lok Sabha seats in 2019.
