The Central Hospital in Maha Kumbh Nagar has begun offering critical healthcare services ahead of the official start of Maha Kumbh.
On Monday, the hospital facilitated the birth of a baby girl, marking the second consecutive day of deliveries.
The newborn is particularly significant as she is the first female born at the hospital during Maha Kumbh.
The baby, named ‘Ganga’ with the consent of both the family and hospital, symbolizes purity and the sacredness of the event.
The delivery was led by Dr. Gaurav Dubey, with support from Dr. Pramila and Dr. Ponshi.
The newborn, weighing 2.8 kg, and her mother, Shivkumari, are both in good health.
The parents, residents of Banda district, see the birth as a blessing from Mother Ganga, which inspired the name.
On Sunday, Dr. Dubey’s team also oversaw the delivery of the first baby born during the Maha Kumbh – a boy named ‘Kumbh.’
Sonam, a 20-year-old from Kaushambi, and her husband Raja arrived at the hospital after Sonam experienced severe labor pain. The hospital delivered the boy to them. Dr. Nupur and Dr. Vartika conducted the birth.
In preparation for the large influx of people attending the Maha Kumbh, the Yogi government has ensured comprehensive healthcare in the region.
The 100-bed Central Hospital, located in the Parade area of the Mela zone, is equipped with general wards, an ICU, a delivery center, and OPD services.
As of now, the hospital has however already handled two successful deliveries.
