CBI Uncovers Serious Lapses In Initial Probe Of RG Kar Medical College Doctor’s Death

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has identified major flaws in the initial probe Of R.G. Kar Medical College Doctor’s Death. The investigation was handed over to the CBI following a Calcutta High Court order.

Officials believe these early lapses significantly slowed their progress. One key failure was the poor quality of the post-mortem videography and reporting. Forensic experts pointed out that the post-mortem report’s language appeared amateurish. It obscured more than it revealed about the wounds on the victim’s body.

Additionally, CBI officials believe a second post-mortem could have provided critical information. However, they are now probing why the victim’s body was cremated hastily. Investigators are questioning the victim’s family and associates to understand the circumstances surrounding the quick cremation. They are particularly focused on claims from the victim’s parents that their request to preserve the body was ignored by authorities.

The CBI is also looking into which administrative and political figures visited the family’s home before the cremation and were present at the crematorium. This part of the investigation is crucial, as it may reveal if any undue pressure was applied.

The Supreme Court is set to hold a key hearing on the case on Monday, during which the CBI will likely submit its progress report.
