BRICS Summit 2026: PM Modi Says Grouping Has Evolved Into An ‘Ecosystem Of Solutions’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the discussions at the 18th BRICS Summit had strengthened the understanding that the grouping has evolved beyond a conventional alliance into an ‘ecosystem of solutions’.

Key Takeaways

“Our discussions over the past two days have further strengthened our belief that BRICS is not merely a grouping of nations, but an ecosystem of solutions. We hope that the New Delhi Declaration adopted at this summit will provide a clear direction for our shared vision and future cooperation. We must translate all outcomes into time-bound actions and last-mile impact. Will work together to ensure that our framework moves beyond mere documentation and creates an impact in real life,” PM Modi stated.

PM Modi expressed his appreciation to the participating leaders for their active involvement and constructive contributions throughout the summit. He said the suggestions and perspectives offered by the leaders had broadened and deepened cooperation within the grouping.

According to the Prime Minister, the presence of member and partner countries at the New Delhi meeting underlined BRICS’ growing importance, openness and inclusive character.

India assumed the BRICS chair in 2026 and hosted the two-day 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, bringing together leaders from member and partner countries along with outreach invitees.

The grouping comprises Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the UAE, while Belarus, Cuba, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are partner countries.

Earlier, PM Modi joined BRICS leaders, partner-country representatives, outreach invitees and heads of international organisations for a family photograph at Bharat Mandapam.

The leaders had unanimously approved the New Delhi Declaration on the summit’s opening day, followed by a gala dinner hosted by PM Modi at the venue on Saturday evening.
