BPSC TRE-4 Exam: Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary Announces Single-Stage Test

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday announced major relief for candidates preparing for the Bihar Public Service Commission Teacher Recruitment Examination (BPSC TRE-4), saying the exam will now be conducted in a single stage instead of the earlier proposed Preliminary and Main examination system.

In a post on social media platform X, CM Choudhary said the Bihar government had taken students’ demands seriously from the beginning and made the decision in their interest.

The government announced several measures aimed at improving transparency and efficiency in competitive examinations.

A major decision is the formation of an expert committee on examination reforms, chaired by a Patna High Court judge.

The committee will examine students’ grievances and provide recommendations for reforms in the examination system.

The government has launched the Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal and Vidyarthi Sahyog Shivir to facilitate faster resolution of students’ problems.

The system aims to resolve student grievances within 30 days.

TRE-4 and Recruitment Rules

For TRE-4, the government will follow the rules governing a single examination and the ‘one candidate, one result’ policy.

The reforms will cover other recruitment examinations.

The expert committee will examine complaints and evidence related to the 70th BPSC examination, Bihar Staff Selection Commission recruitment examinations, the recruitment of 1,799 Sub-Inspectors and the Bihar Eligibility Test, with further action based on its recommendations.

The government said librarian recruitment will begin soon.

A high-level committee will determine a separate quota for contractual employees based on marks and weightage, while a comprehensive domicile policy will apply across recruitment processes.

A proposal on the maximum age limit for recruitment examinations will go before the committee.

The government will issue and strictly follow a recruitment calendar and introduce greater transparency regarding question papers, OMR sheets and answer booklets in examinations conducted on the BPSC model.

The Economic Offences Unit will conduct an impartial investigation into alleged paper leaks in examinations, including the Assistant Education Development Officer and Sanitary Inspector examinations conducted through BPSC.

The measures will likely provide relief to TRE-4 aspirants, particularly those opposing the two-stage format, while addressing wider concerns over recruitment examinations and creating a more transparent and predictable system for students and job aspirants.
