BJP Rule In Bengal Marks ‘New Dawn Of Trust’, Says Nitin Nabin Ahead Of Oath Ceremony

The Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to form its first government in West Bengal on Saturday, with party National President Nitin Nabin describing the moment as the beginning of a new era for the state.

In a message posted on X, Nabin stated the BJP’s rise to power reflected growing public confidence in development, security, women’s safety, employment generation, and governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The National President asserted that Bengal was witnessing the arrival of a ‘new dawn of trust’ and said the people of the state had placed their faith in political change.

Nabin added that the new government was taking the oath with the support and expectations of the common people.

Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari will likely be sworn in as West Bengal’s first BJP Chief Minister at a ceremony planned at Brigade Parade Ground.

Adhikari secured victories from both Nandigram and Bhabanipur in the Assembly elections.

In Bhabanipur, Suvendu Adhikari defeated Trinamool Congress chief and outgoing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Several senior NDA leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers, and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, will likely attend the oath-taking event.

The BJP’s government formation follows the Assembly election results announced on 4 May, which marked a major political transition in the state after the end of the Trinamool Congress government.

On Friday, Shah formally declared Adhikari as the BJP Legislature Party leader during a meeting with newly elected BJP MLAs, clearing the way for him to assume office as Chief Minister.
