BJP releases poll manifesto for Lok Sabha elections in presemce of PM Narendra Modi
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its election manifesto, titled “Sankalp Patra,” which outlines several key promises and the party’s vision for the nation. The manifesto was released at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in attendance.
One of the significant pledges in the manifesto is the commitment to implement the Union Civil Code (UCC), aimed at ensuring gender equality. The BJP emphasizes that women’s rights cannot be fully realized without a common legal code. The party intends to draw upon the best traditions and modernize them to harmonize with contemporary times.
The manifesto also focuses on maintaining peace in the Northeast region and gradually phasing out the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA). The BJP aims to address issues in disturbed areas and resolve inter-state border disputes through sustained efforts.

The BJP promises to leverage the Northeast as a strategic gateway for India’s Act East Policy, prioritizing connectivity, education, health, economic development, and security. Additionally, the party pledges to implement measures for flood management in the region, including the construction of reservoirs and promoting water sports.
Efforts to prevent paper leaks and ensure transparent public exams are also outlined in the manifesto. The BJP vows to strictly implement laws to prevent misconduct in recruitment exams and fill government vacancies in a time-bound and transparent manner.
The manifesto underscores the importance of empowering youth and enhancing education opportunities. The BJP pledges to develop an integrated education framework under the National Education Policy (NEP), offering high-quality education, world-class sports facilities, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities to young citizens.

The BJP’s manifesto reflects extensive consultation with the public, with over 1.5 million suggestions received, including inputs through the NaMo app and videos. The party appointed a manifesto committee headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to deliberate on its contents.
With the Lok Sabha polls scheduled from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, in seven phases, the BJP aims to secure a strong mandate based on its promises and vision for the nation. The election outcome will be declared on June 4, determining the composition of the 18th Lok Sabha.
