Ghazipur Fire Incident Sparks Reactions In Political World

Thick, dark smoke continued to rise from the Ghazipur landfill site in the national capital on Monday, following a significant fire that erupted the previous evening. Nearby residents reported experiencing breathing difficulties and irritation in their eyes and throat due to the smoke. According to a Delhi Fire Services official, the fire broke out around 6 pm yesterday, prompting the dispatch of 10 fire tenders to extinguish the blaze.

Meanwhile, AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh expressed, “All the MCD officials are working on it. The Fire Department has also been working. The fire will be brought under control soon…”

Also, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi expressed herself over the massive accident and said, “The fire tenders of Delhi Fire Service were present at the spot throughout the night. The fire has been controlled. We hope that the smoke will also fade away in some time. The Delhi Deputy Mayor visited the spot yesterday evening. The Delhi Mayor is going to visit the spot today. We will investigate how and by which process this fire broke out.”

In the same context, MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi said, “The situation is completely under control now and there is no need to fear. BJP should understand that this is not the time to do politics when such natural disasters strike…”

Taking a jibe at the progress on the Ghazipur fire, LoP in Delhi MCD Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said, “It shows vileness of AAP in MCD. People are suffering because of smoke. During our (BJP) times, 25 machines were used to work here, now more than half are not working. Garbage has increased and they are finding no other ways. This seems to me as mischief by someone in association with the leaders of AAP to make contractors happy and earn money through corruption. They have nothing to do with people, this mountain of garbage is also a mountain of lies.”

Highlighting the failure of AAP government in Delhi, BJP leader RP Singh said, “The fire has been burning since yesterday afternoon. It is a terrible situation. This is a huge fire. The Delhi government has failed… They claimed to clear the landfill by December 2023. But, they are corrupt and indulge in internal conflicts… They don’t care about Delhi… They make fake promises to win the elections. Then, they escape from the problems.”

Delhi Fire service SO Naresh Kumar said that the fire was caused by the gas produced in the landfill.
