BJP Leader’s Letter Reveals Alleged ‘Sexual Blackmail’ Videos Involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna

Amidst the scandal involving explicit videos allegedly linked to Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, a letter penned by a Karnataka BJP leader has surfaced, disclosing the possession of a pen drive containing nearly 3,000 videos depicting women engaging in sexual acts. Devaraje Gowda, the former Holenarsipura candidate for the 2023 Assembly elections, addressed the letter to the BJP’s state president BY Vijayendra on December 8, 2023. In the communication, Gowda highlighted serious accusations against several members of the HD Deve Gowda family, including Prajwal Revanna, who serves as the NDA candidate for the JD(S), the BJP’s ally in the state.

Gowda revealed that the pen drive contained a total of 2,976 videos, with some featuring government officials. He alleged that these videos were utilized to coerce the women into participating in further sexual activities, suggesting a pattern of blackmail.

Additionally, Gowda claimed that a separate pen drive containing these incriminating videos, along with photos, had reached the attention of national leaders within the Congress party. Expressing concerns about potential ramifications, he emphasized that aligning with the JD(S) and nominating a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections in Hassan could backfire, tarnishing the BJP’s reputation on a national scale.

The JD(S) had joined the NDA in September 2023, adding complexity to the unfolding scandal involving Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader HD Deve Gowda. The controversy erupted after explicit videos circulated on social media just days before the commencement of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka on April 26.

In a separate development, JD(S) MLA Sharanagouda Kandkur urged party chief HD Deve Gowda to consider the expulsion of Prajwal Revanna, citing the embarrassment caused to the party by the ongoing case.
