BJP Intensifies Kerala Campaign; PM Modi, Amit Shah Lead High-Voltage Push For Breakthrough

With the Assembly election campaign entering its decisive phase, the BJP, led by PM Narendra Modi, has launched an aggressive push in Kerala, deploying its top leadership in a bid for a historic breakthrough.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with several Chief Ministers and senior leaders, is set to campaign across the state, highlighting the party’s determination to open its account in the 140-member Assembly.

According to party sources, Narendra Modi will undertake two whirlwind tours, addressing rallies and energising workers across key districts.

The BJP is focusing on high-visibility outreach in Kasargod, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Thrissur.

The party draws confidence from Suresh Gopi’s Thrissur Lok Sabha win and its victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation in the recent local body polls.

The electoral data present a mixed picture. While the BJP secured a 15.64 per cent vote share in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it saw a slight decline to 14.71 per cent in the 2025 local body polls.

Despite this, the party remains optimistic, citing second-place finishes in nine constituencies during the 2021 Assembly elections as a sign of growing support.

State BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed confidence that the party will break its long-standing electoral barrier and secure multiple seats in the upcoming polls.

Challenges remain, particularly Kerala’s demographic composition, where minority communities, including Muslims and Christians, make up around 42 per cent of the population.

Party strategists emphasise the need for sustained outreach to community leaders.

As campaigning intensifies, the BJP’s high-voltage push reflects a determined effort to convert incremental gains into a significant electoral foothold in Kerala.
