BJP Completes Massive Internal Polls; Moves To Elect Nitin Nabin As National President

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has achieved a historic milestone under Sangathan Parv 2024, completing one of the world’s largest internal democratic exercises. The party now moves decisively toward electing its next national president.

On Monday, BJP senior leaders filed nomination papers for 45-year-old National Working President Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters in New Delhi.

BJP President JP Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh submitted the first set of nomination papers.

Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, and Kiren Rijiju joined them

Leaders from Arunachal Pradesh and other states also endorsed Nabin, demonstrating wide organisational support.

The party’s elections, however, reflect transparency, discipline, and grassroots involvement.

Booth-level polls elected 788,197 Booth Presidents and 8,947,845 Booth Committee members, marking 74% completion.

Mandal elections concluded for 16,469 out of 17,743 units, achieving 93% progress, while district-level polls finished in 978 of 1,036 districts (94%).

State Council elections are 80% complete, with 4,932 of 6,384 members elected. National Council elections covered 741 of 815 members (92%).

This extensive process formed an Electoral College of 5,708 members, combining 35 parliamentary nominees, 741 national council members, and 4,932 state council members.

This body will formally elect the BJP National President.

After the nomination and scrutiny process, the BJP declared Nitin Nabin the sole candidate for the post.

Thirty-seven valid nomination sets supported him, and no other contender emerged.

Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, and J P Nadda backed Nitin Nabin, clearing the path for his unopposed Tuesday election.

Nitin Nabin’s elevation signals a strategic push to inject youthful leadership while maintaining continuity.

The five-time Bihar MLA has actively prepared the party for the upcoming state elections in Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, and Puducherry.

His rise from grassroots worker to national leader, however, showcases the BJP’s organisational strength and merit-based leadership culture.
