Bihar: JDU Leader Saurabh Kumar Shot In Patna

Saurabh Kumar, a youth leader of the Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU), was fatally shot by bike-borne assailants in Patna on Wednesday night.

Police stated that the JDU leader was returning from a wedding reception when the attack occurred.

Additionally, one person accompanying the JDU leader sustained injuries in the incident.

Kanhaiya Singh, SDPO Masaurhi, stated, “Saurabh Kumar came with his friends to attend a reception function. While returning, he was shot by unidentified assailants who were on a motorcycle.”

“Subsequently, he was rushed to the hospital, and another individual named Munmun Kumar also sustained injuries. They were both taken to Kankarbagh Uma Hospital. Unfortunately, Saurabh Kumar succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. We are actively investigating the matter,” Kanhaiya Singh added.

As per reports, search for the unidentified assailants is underway.

Police asserted that they are currently reviewing the CCTV footage and gathering evidence for analysis.

In the aftermath of the incident, enraged JDU supporters gathered at the scene. They urged authorities to take prompt and stringent action regarding the murder.

Meanwhile, upon hearing the news, Misa Bharti, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, promptly arrived in Punpun to meet with the victim’s family members.
