Bihar Hosts Grand Culinary & Cultural Display At CM Oath Ceremony

The Bihar government presented an elaborate showcase of the state’s culinary and cultural heritage during the Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, Patna.

The organisers marked the event—attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers from several NDA-ruled states—with warm hospitality and rich cultural symbolism.

To honour the distinguished guests, organisers prepared an extensive spread of Bihar’s most cherished delicacies.

The organisers served special tea and snacks such as nimki, dhokla, mathri, barh ki laai, and gujiya in the hangars and the green room.

The organisers entrusted a private hotel with managing food services, and its culinary team rehearsed preparation and serving techniques to ensure flawless execution during the event.

Litti-chokha and makhana-kheer formed the centrepiece of the menu. Prepared using authentic traditional methods, these dishes offered guests a true taste of Bihar’s culinary identity.

Several additional Bihari specialities were also included to highlight the state’s gastronomic heritage.

Diverse Cuisine Honours Visiting States

The menu extended beyond Bihar’s borders as a gesture of respect to visiting leaders.

The hotel’s chefs curated dishes from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Manipur.

This diverse offering underscored the administration’s aim to make the ceremony not only politically significant but also culturally inclusive and festive.

Given the presence of high-profile dignitaries, the state government implemented comprehensive security and logistical arrangements.

The authorities deployed ambulances, medical teams, and emergency facilities around Gandhi Maidan and at guest accommodations to ensure immediate assistance if required.

They also arranged special seating, reception areas, and guest-handling protocols to maintain smooth movement throughout the event.

Cultural Extravaganza at Gandhi Maidan

The ceremony extended beyond cuisine and politics, featuring a vibrant cultural programme that showcased Bihar’s artistic traditions.

Folk artists performed traditional music and dance, with Maithili Thakur leading the presentations.

Their performances added a festive spirit to the occasion, immersing attendees in the cultural fabric of the state.

The elaborate arrangements at Gandhi Maidan reflected the Bihar government’s commitment to turning the swearing-in ceremony into a celebration of the state’s cultural, culinary, and social identity.

The fusion of traditional cuisine, artistic performances, and meticulous hospitality ensured that the event was memorable not only for the dignitaries in attendance but also for the residents of Bihar, who witnessed their heritage showcased on a national stage.
