Bihar Government Executes Major Administrative Reshuffle, Transferring 50 IAS Officers

The Bihar government executed a major administrative reshuffle on Saturday, transferring 50 IAS officers, including more than a dozen district magistrates. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued a notification detailing these changes.

Raj Kumar, the current Collector of Bhojpur and a 2010 batch IAS officer, will now lead the Bihar State Milk Co-Operative Federation Ltd (COMFED) as Managing Director. Sheohar Collector Pankaj Kumar, also from the 2010 batch, will assume the role of Director of Primary Education.

Nayyar Iqbal, formerly the Director of the Mines and Geology Department, has been appointed Special Secretary of the Food and Consumer Protection Department. Rakesh Kumar, the District Collector of Lakhisarai, will now serve as the Director of Consolidation, while Mithilesh Mishra, who previously held the Director of Consolidation role, will become District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.

Sunil Kumar Yadav will take on the role of Additional Secretary of the Labour Resources Department, and Yogendra Singh will serve as Director of Secondary Education with additional responsibilities for the Mid Day Meal Programme. The Bihar government has appointed Anand Sharma and Himanshu Kumar Rai as Directors in the Panchayati Raj Department. Additionally, Dr. Jitendra Gupta will join the Bihar State Planning Board as Joint Secretary.

Dr. Vidya Nand Singh will now lead the Statistics Department as Director, and the government has appointed Uditha Singh as District Magistrate of Rohtas. Roshan Kushwaha will serve as District Magistrate of Samastipur.

Additional appointments include Sanjay Kumar as Additional Secretary of the GAD, Kumar Mangalam as Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Purnea, and Atul Kumar Verma as Administrator of the Bihar Road Transport Department. J. Priyadarshani will move to the Land Reform Department as Director.

The reshuffle also reassigns 30 other IAS officers to various positions across the state. A government spokesperson stated that these changes aim to enhance administrative efficiency.
