As counting progressed on Thursday, excitement swept across the country, with millions closely tracking the outcome of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025.
By early afternoon, trends painted a clear picture: the NDA appeared firmly on course for a commanding victory, sparking celebrations among supporters across the state.
According to counting trends available by midday, the NDA had established a strong advantage in nearly 180 of Bihar’s 243 seats.
The numbers have ignited intense discussions over the scale of the ruling alliance’s possible return to power, with many speculating that this could be one of its most decisive mandates yet.
Amid the political momentum, a campaign song by Bhojpuri star and BJP campaigner Pawan Singh surged in popularity on social media.
The song, which became a staple at BJP rallies during the campaign, celebrates the partnership between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Its catchiest line, ‘Jodi Modi aa Nitish ji ke hit hoi…’ — has been widely shared online.
The track, sung by Pawan Singh and Shivani Singh, has already crossed seven lakh views on YouTube, quickly becoming a campaign anthem and an unexpected cultural highlight of election day.
Election Commission data suggests that the BJP is emerging as the largest party, holding strong leads on more than 92 of the 101 seats it contested.
The JDU, which secured only 43 seats in the 2020 election, appears poised for a remarkable resurgence, leading on around 80 seats. For Nitish Kumar, these numbers signal a significant political comeback.
With both parties performing strongly, the return of a ‘double-engine government’, a term often used to describe a state-centred alignment, seems almost certain based on early trends.
On the opposition side, the Mahagathbandhan appears to be facing one of its toughest electoral battles.
The RJD, which contested over 140 seats, is trailing far behind its 2020 performance, leading on only around 30 seats. The Congress, contesting 61 seats, is struggling to cross even single digits.
The underwhelming performance has raised serious concerns over the alliance’s strategy and appeal, with analysts noting that the early trends indicate a significant setback for the bloc.
Meanwhile, unrelated viral clips circulating online have sparked mixed reactions from users, including commentary on public personalities such as Jaya Bachchan, who continues to trend for her interactions with paparazzi rather than film appearances.
While these videos remain a separate conversation altogether, they reflect the wide spectrum of online engagement seen on election day, from political enthusiasm to celebrity reactions.
