Bharat Jodo Yatra: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra Resumes From Kashmiri Gate

Bharat Jodo Yatra: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is resuming today from Kashmiri Gate. It was on rest in Delhi from 24th December 2022. Yatra will enter Uttar Pradesh today itself and till January 5, the journey will continue in UP only. Again in Haryana from January 6 to January 10, in Punjab from January 11, while after passing through Himachal Pradesh for just one day on January 19, the yatra will enter Jammu and Kashmir on the evening of January 20 and going to end with the flag hoisting in Srinagar on January 30.

As the yatra moved forward in Delhi, a huge police force was deployed to ensure there is no untoward incident. However, traffic in several parts of the city on the Ring Road was thrown out of gear.

AICC in-charge for Delhi affairs of the party Shaktisinh Gohil said he has seen a great turnout in Delhi and leaders of various opposition parties will join the yatra.

“Farooq Abdullah will join us in the Yatra. Priyanka Gandhi will join us from Loni border. So far, the yatra has been a huge success and we have received great response from the public,” he said.

Priyanka will join Rahul’s yatra

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will also join her brother Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodi Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. She will walk 120 kms. Priyanka Gandhi will start her padyatra from Ghaziabad with brother Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress has invited several major non-BJP parties to participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. 

Sources said that not all, but some non-BJP parties have been invited, as the party has earlier extended invitations to leaders and MPs of several parties.

Akhilesh and Mayawati congratulated Bharat Jodo Yatra

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati have congratulated the Bharat Jodo Yatra being taken out by former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi had sent an invitation letter to SP President Akhilesh Yadav to join the Bharat Jodo Yatra. On this, Akhilesh Yadav replied by writing a letter to Rahul and also shared it with his Twitter account.

On the other hand, BSP chief Mayawati has created a stir in the BJP camp by wishing Rahul Gandhi for the Bharat Jodo Yatra. She has thanked Rahul Gandhi for the invitation letter to join yatra. However, Mayawati has not made it clear whether she will join the yatra or not.

Delhi Traffic Police issued advisory

Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra starting from the central part of the national capital city at around 10 am on Tuesday, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory and warned the common commuters about the routes and diversions that will be affected. According to the traffic advisory, Bharat Jodo Yatra will resume from Marghat Wale Baba, Hanuman Mandir near Red Fort. The yatra will proceed towards Loni Gol Chakkar via Loha Pul, Shastri Park Metro Station, Old GT Road, Furniture Market, Maujpur, Babarpur, Wazirabad Road. It will reach Loni border around 12 noon. A large number of pedestrians and vehicles are likely to participate in the yatra.

Security agencies took stock

His 130 km journey in UP will pass through 11 assembly constituencies of 3 districts ie Ghaziabad, Baghpat and Shamli. Congress workers from different districts have started reaching Ghaziabad. At the same time, security and intelligence agencies have camped in Ghaziabad. A team of CRPF has visited the entire route and seen the security arrangements.
