On Friday i.e. today, tributes are being paid to Subrata Roy at his residence in Sahara City, Lucknow. Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also participated in the tribute meeting along with Bharat Express Chairman Upendra Rai.

His school education was completed in Kolkata. After that he came to Gorakhpur, from where he completed his studies in mechanical engineering from Government Technical Institute. After completing his engineering studies, he started trying his luck in business. He started his career from job. Then in the year 1978, the foundation of Sahara Group was laid. After achieving success in this, he started Sahara Finance. He played a major role in becoming Saharasri in Sahara Finance. After this, Saharasri kept setting new records every day.
