In a monumental effort to celebrate and uphold the ideals of national integration, cultural unity, and the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, Bharat Bharti has launched a nationwide campaign marking the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
This five-day special campaign commenced in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, under the leadership of Jagannath Kunjbihari Swain, National Organising Secretary, and Irfan Ahmad, in charge of North India.
The campaign seeks to promote the spirit of unity, harmony, and cultural oneness, particularly within academic institutions across India.
According to Irfan Ahmad, the initiative was conceptualised during a national-level meeting held in Surat this June, where it was unanimously decided to launch the campaign in 150 major cities across the country, including key universities, IITs, IIMs, and other premier academic institutions.
The aim is to transform these campuses into ‘Mini Indias’, celebrating the country’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity while fostering a strong sense of unity among the youth.
The campaign also commemorates Sardar Patel’s monumental role in the unification of 562 princely states post-independence—a feat unmatched in modern Indian history.
As part of the outreach, detailed discussions held at Sher-e-Kashmir Agricultural University, Srinagar, with Vice Chancellor Prof Nazir Ganaie, who expressed full support and agreed to organise a grand event under the campaign banner in October.
The Bharat Bharti delegation also called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, to apprise him of the campaign’s objectives and outcomes.
The Lt Governor extended his wholehearted support and assured his presence at future events.
During their stay in Jammu, the Bharat Bharti team engaged with eminent educationists, civil society members, and government officials.
Key meetings held with Dr Manoj Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu; Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Prof Mishra, Dean of Student Welfare; and Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean and Controller of Examinations, Cluster University.
At the BJP headquarters in Jammu, the party’s Vice President, Rajeev Charak, held a special consultative session and pledged political and administrative support for the success of the campaign.
The campaign culminated with a press conference at the Bharat Bharti office in Gandhinagar, attended by senior citizens, cultural dignitaries, and organisational representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeevanand Sharma, Jammu Coordinator, and Pt RC Sharma jointly remarked, “Bharat Bharti is not merely a programme; it is a symbol of India’s unbreakable national spirit and cultural pride—a reflection of unity in diversity.”
They added that the campaign would continue to expand across Jammu & Kashmir and other states, aiming to ignite a renewed sense of patriotism, national integration, and cultural consciousness among India’s youth.
With growing public support and institutional backing, this initiative is likely to become a landmark movement in strengthening the idea of a united, harmonious, and culturally vibrant India.
