Bahraich: UP CM Yogi Adityanath To Meet Family Of Victim Ram Gopal Mishra

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to visit the grieving family of 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra, who lost his life in a recent communal clash in Bahraich.

The tragic incident unfolded during a Durga idol immersion procession on Sunday evening in Maharajgang market, located in Rehuwa Mansoor village.

The confrontation erupted due to escalating tensions over the loud music from loudspeakers, leading to chaotic scenes of stone-pelting and gunfire.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Mishra succumbed to his injuries shortly after the clash, marking a painful loss for his family and community.

BJP MLA Sureshwar Singh, who confirmed the Chief Minister’s visit, emphasized the government’s commitment to justice.

He stated, “The Chief Minister’s decision to meet with the family shows his deep concern for the incident. He has assured that all those responsible will face stringent consequences, irrespective of their affiliations.”

While the area has returned to calm since Monday, the Mishra family remains in a state of anguish, demanding accountability and justice for their loss.

Sureshwar Singh shared their chilling demand, asserting, “The family is adamant that the shooter should face the same fate as their son, insisting on a police encounter as a form of retribution.”

Responding to these emotionally charged demands, MLA Singh assured that law enforcement would act judiciously.

He further added, “If the suspect resists arrest or tries to flee, the police will have no other option. It will depend on the situation whether he will face an encounter or caught and face legal consequences.”

Bulldozer Action Considered Against Suspect’s Property Amid Bahraich Unrest

Additionally, Singh addressed the possibility of bulldozer action against the suspect’s property, stating that any illegal constructions would face demolition if proven to be the case.

The tragic death of Mishra has sparked widespread unrest in Bahraich, resulting in significant property damage, including the burning of several vehicles and homes. Reports indicate that at least four houses set ablaze amid the turmoil.

In light of the unrest, authorities have taken action by suspending the Hardi police station chief and the outpost in-charge for their negligence during the incident.
