ATS launches intensive search for ISIS links in Prayagraj

The team of Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) after arresting the ISIS sleeper cell Faizan Bakhtiyar has now launched an intensive search for the other links of Faizan in Prayagraj and students who were in regular contact with ISIS sleeper cell.

It may be recalled that Faizan Bakhtiyar, a resident of Kareli, who was arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) with a reward of Rs 25,000, was working as a sleeper cell of the module of the terrorist organization ISIS. He was in direct contact with two ISIS terrorists through Aalim Rizwan, a resident of Naini.

According to highly placed sources , Faizan was among the members of SAMU, the student organization of Aligarh Muslim University, who were in direct contact with ISIS terrorist Shahnawaz. He constantly talked to Shahnawaz and his another associate ISIS terrorist Rizwan Ali and on their orders worked to propagate the ISIS module.

Faizan is a resident of Kareli’s GTB Nagar, near Jagriti Hospital and is studying from Aligarh Muslim University. Her father Bakhtiyar Yusuf is an advocate and mother is a teacher. He is the second among three brothers and his two other brothers also study outside the city. Since Faizan’s arrest, the family has maintained silence. He is not ready to say anything. An attempt was made to contact his father over phone but no response was received.

The people of the locality are also shocked after his arrest. No one is ready to speak openly on this matter. However, on the condition of anonymity, a person said that the family is very normal and after hearing about Faizan, no one can believe that he was in contact with the people of the terrorist organization. Told that Faizan used to come home only occasionally.

It may be recalled that Special Cell of Delhi arrested Shahnawaz  in October last year  after which  module of ISIS was busted in the country. During interrogation  Shahnawaz’s  revealed that some students of the student organization of Aligarh Muslim University were in direct contact with him and his colleague Rizwan Ali and Faizan was also included in them.
Along with Shahnawaz, resident of Naini  Alim Rizwan Ashraf was also arrested in Delhi. This Rizwan Ashraf was in direct contact with the students of Aligarh Muslim University.
