As per the information share by an official, Prayagraj police has submitted the charge sheet in Umesh Pal murder case. The charge-sheet named the two sons of slain Atiq Ahmad, Umar and Ali.
The two are facing charges for ivolvement in the February 24, 2023, murder of lawyer Umesh Pal. Miscreants murdered Pal outside his home in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh’s Sulem Sarai region.
Ali is bahind the bars in Naini Central jail, while authorities have kept Umar in a jail of Lucknow.
In 2022, the police has arrested the two on separate charges of kidnapping, assault, and attempted murder.
According to Varun Kumar, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Dhumanganj, Ali and Umar have admitted in their confessions that they were part of the plot to kill Umesh Pal.
The charge sheet registers the case under section 120 B of the IPC against Umar and Ali.

In the murder case of Umesh Pal, this was the fourth charge sheet that the police had submitted.
Police filed a second supplemental charge sheet on June 17, 2023, against Atiq ahmad’s attorney Khan Saulat Hanif, Ekhlaq Ahmad, and six other people. The first charge sheet was submitted in May 2023 against the accused Sadaqat Khan.
October 2023 saw the filing of the third charge sheet against Atiq’s attorney, Vijay Mishra.
The attackers, Guddu Muslim, Mohd. Arman, and Sabir, as well as Atiq’s wife Shaista Parveen, his sister Ayesha Noori, and Ashraf’s wife Zainab, are evading justice.
The police has recorded the statements of Ali and Umar in the jails in Lucknow and Naini.
In the case diary of the charge sheet, police mentioned that Ali and Umar confessed to having full knowledge of the conspiracy.
Police officials said that Asad and some other assailants visited Ali and Umar in jail.
