Atal Bihari Vajpayee Death Anniversary: PM Modi, Amit Shah Pay Tribute To Former PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday paid tribute to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, recalling his exceptional leadership, vision and lifelong commitment to the nation.

PM Modi remembered Vajpayee as an extraordinary statesman whose words and efforts inspired generations. He said Vajpayee’s leadership strengthened India and his focus on good governance and public welfare would continue to guide the country.

Amit Shah paid homage to Vajpayee, describing him as a patriot and statesman who devoted his life to serving the nation. He highlighted Vajpayee’s contribution to national security, particularly through India’s nuclear tests and the Kargil War.

The Minister praised Vajpayee’s value-based politics and his efforts to bring the vision of Antyodaya and good governance into practice. He further said Vajpayee’s towering personality and leadership would continue to inspire BJP workers towards nation-building.

Vajpayee served as Prime Minister on three occasions and remained one of India’s most prominent political figures. His tenure witnessed major developments in national security, infrastructure, economic policy and diplomacy.

Born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vajpayee had a parliamentary career spanning more than four decades. His political legacy continues to be remembered for his emphasis on democratic values, national security, development and good governance.
