The Assam BJP is on track to achieve its target of enrolling 60 lakh members but plans to extend its membership drive beyond that goal, according to a party leader who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
“We are on the verge of reaching 100% of our target in the membership drive. Assam is the only state in the country set to achieve this for the party. However, we will not stop here; we will continue to enroll more people into the BJP. The trust of the people in the state has been evident, and the membership drive has proven this,” the leader stated.

The official emphasized that the membership drive is independent of the upcoming elections, highlighting the BJP government’s focus on the welfare of the people. “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, our government has undertaken unprecedented development works,” he added.
On Monday, Chief Minister Sarma announced that over 40,000 new members had joined the party across 93 Assembly constituencies. Notably, the Baksa Assembly segment has recently surpassed 40,000 BJP members.
Taking to social media platform X, CM Sarma shared an update, stating, “Update: @BJP4Assam Sadasyata Abhiyan. With the sustained hard work of our Karyakartas, we have enrolled 40,000+ members in 93 constituencies. Baksa joins the coveted list today.”
Earlier, during celebrations for Vijayadashami, CM Sarma praised the efforts of the party’s state unit, noting that almost 16,000 new members joined the BJP on Sunday alone. He posted, “The @BJP4Assam #SadasyataAbhiyaan continues unabated. On Dashami, we enrolled almost 16,000 members, bringing our total membership in the state to 58.72 lakh. We will soon reach 100% of our membership target.”
With nearly 59 lakh members already enrolled, Assam leads the country in the BJP’s membership drive, underscoring the party’s significant presence and support in the state.
