Police in Rajasthan reported on Friday that a 21-year-old tribal lady was reportedly paraded around a hamlet in the Pratapgarh district while being stripped naked by her husband and in-laws. While the Bharatiya Janata Party said that “Rajasthan is again ashamed” as a result of the occurrence, chief minister Ashok Gehlot said he ordered the director general of police to send the ADG (Crime) to the scene and take strong action in this case.
The lady was in a relationship with another man, according to Dhariyawad SHO Peshawar Khan, who also noted that the event happened on Thursday.
Umesh Mishra, director general of police (DGP), said that she was abducted by her in-laws and taken to their village , where the atrocity occurred. He said that she was staying with another man, which irritated her in-laws.
A guy is seen in the frightening video stripping the woman in front of witnesses before flaunting her in a village.
Amit Kumar, the Pratapgarh superintendent of police, is camped out in the area, and Mishra claimed the state government has taken the issue extremely seriously, forming six squads to apprehend the suspects.
Gehlot responded to the event by posting a statement on X (formerly Twitter) with the following: “In Pratapgarh district, a video of a lady being stripped nude by her in-laws due to some family disagreement has surfaced. ADG Crime should be dispatched immediately, and the Director General of Police has been ordered to take stern measures. Such criminals have no place in a civilised society. These culprits will be tried in a fast-track court, prosecuted, and punished as soon as feasible.
However, the BJP attacked the Gehlot administration harshly, with former chief minister Vasundhara Raje claiming that despite the video of a pregnant lady being exposed in public becoming viral on social media, the administration was unaware of it. Additionally, she urged people to refrain from sharing the video, claiming that the act had embarrassed Rajasthan.

Amit Malviya, the chairman of the BJP’s information technology division, posted the video on X and stated, “A horrific incidence of stripping and assaulting a lady has come to light in Dhariyavad, a tribally predominate district of Rajasthan. The administration, government, and police are still unaware that two days have gone by. Rahul Gandhi is in Mumbai while Ashok Gehlot is asleep. The political party addressing women’s harassment is likewise mute.
CP Joshi, a representative for Chittorgarh in the Rajasthan BJP, also commented on the event. Rajasthan is embarrassed once more today. This female atrocity occurred in the lower quota of Pahada Gramme Panchayat in Dhariyawad Tehsil of Pratapgarh district, and the administration was completely unaware of it. The reason Rajasthan is rated first in rape and crimes against women is explained by this, he wrote on X.

Nagraj Meena, a Congress member from the Pratapgarh district’s Dhariyawad assembly seat, reported that he had ordered the police to act right away.
“I went straight to the Dhariyawad police station after learning about the event. The District Collector and District Superintendent of Police and I have talked about this. The level of criticism for the incident that occurred is without bounds. The cops will respond quickly to this situation. I’ve already told the cops to act right away in this case,” he stated.
