Arvind Kejriwal Vows Swift Return Despite Arrest, AAP Raises Concerns Over Office Sealing

In his first message from jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his determination to fulfill his promises to the people despite being incarcerated, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raised concerns over their city office reportedly being sealed. Kejriwal’s incarceration stems from a legal battle with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over a money-laundering case linked to an alleged excise policy scam.

Later, Kejriwal challenged his arrest in the high court, seeking urgent attention to his case. AAP leaders emphasized the urgency of the matter, with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann asserting that if Kejriwal remains in jail, they will seek permission to establish his office within the prison premises.

The arrest prompted a response from AAP, with Atishi demanding accountability from the ED and alleging biased targeting. She highlighted that despite extensive investigations, no evidence has been found against AAP leaders in the alleged scam.

In a heartfelt message relayed by his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, the incarcerated chief minister reiterated his commitment to serving the nation, expressing confidence in his imminent release. Meanwhile, AAP raised concerns over the alleged sealing of their Delhi office, calling for intervention from the Election Commission to ensure fair play during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP criticized Kejriwal’s continuation as chief minister while under arrest, labeling it as detrimental to the country’s political landscape. However, AAP leaders staunchly defended Kejriwal, accusing the BJP of political vendetta and vowing to fight against such tactics in the upcoming elections.
