On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, India’s former President and a distinguished scientist, celebrating his enduring legacy as a source of inspiration for the nation.
Taking to X, PM Modi remarked, “A respectful tribute to the renowned scientist and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. His vision and thoughts will greatly aid in the realization of a Viksit Bharat.”
The Prime Minister shared a video montage that featured a collection of photos capturing moments between himself and Dr. Kalam, highlighting the former President’s courage in facing challenges head-on.
The Prime Minister further stated, “Dr. Abdul Kalam naturally embodied two traits: ease and simplicity.”
“There are two types of people in this world: those who seek opportunities and those who embrace challenges. Dr. Abdul Kalam always chose the latter,” PM Modi further asserted.
PM Modi reflected on Dr. Kalam’s remarkable achievements, emphasizing how rare it is for someone to earn the title of ‘Rashtra Ratna’ (Jewel of the Nation) before serving as President.
The Prime Minister added, “This distinction speaks volumes about the extraordinary life and accomplishments of Dr. Abdul Kalam.”
Meanwhile, PM Modi also reminisced about a significant moment when Dr. Kalam was asked how he wished to be remembered.
“He simply replied, I want others to remember me as a teacher,” PM Modi recalled, noting how this response illustrated Dr. Kalam’s profound respect for education and his lifelong commitment to inspiring others.
Concluding his tribute, PM Modi reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to embodying the values that Dr. Kalam championed throughout his life.
“With Dr. Abdul Kalam’s blessings, we will strive to achieve the goals set by his teachings. This will be the greatest tribute to him,” the Prime Minister further stated, invoking a sense of unity and determination among citizens to uphold the ideals of the beloved former President.
